Infrared is a spectrum of light beyond that which we normally see. Infrared photography was only used in film cameras in the past, but despite having an IR blocking filter installed between the lens and the Digital Cameras Sensor, most digital cameras can still react to infrared energy, though at levels far lower than visible light.
